I graduated from the University of the Incarnate Word in 1996 with a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education/Interdisciplinary Studies. This is my 25th year teaching. I have taught 5th grade, 2nd grade, 3rd grade, 1st grade, and Kindergarten. In addition to my classroom experience, I am a trained Reading Recovery teacher, and have about 15 years experience teaching struggling readers and coaching teachers on best practices in literacy education.

I see my role as teacher as one of a model, while "practicing as I preach." Therefore, I strongly believe in working as a team with parents to help their child be caring, respectful leaders in school and in life.
