Mrs. Terri Pitts

My name is Terri Pitts. If you need to contact me, you can use Remind App 8c247h or my email tpitts@neisd.net.  I have been an elementary Physical Education/Health Teacher for nearly two decades.  I am starting my 8th year at Colonial Hills. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from the University of Texas at San Antonio with teacher certification.  I am also certified in Special Education, Classroom Teaching (EC-4th), Health,  English as a Second Language (ESL), and Principal.  Additionally, I have a Master’s degree in Administrative Leadership.

On the personal side, I was born in Utah. I am the oldest of 4 girls. When I was 6 months old, my family moved overseas. My dad started working for an oil company. I spent my elementary and middle school years in Jakarta, Indonesia. I lived in Singapore during my high school years until halfway through my senior year. I graduated in Aberdeen, Scotland. I am married to an awesome man and my biggest supporter.  His name is Dale. The students call him Mr. Coach Pitts.  He loves volunteering at the school.   We have four sons:  Chris, John, Brad, and Aaren.  They are all grown now, and we have been blessed with one granddaughter, Tayvin, and two grandsons named Braston and James. We also have a granddaughter that will be born in October.   Tayvin is  8 years old and Braston is  6 years old and James is 5 years old

My favorite food is barbecue. I love to do many recreational activities such as gardening, going to the lake, camping, biking, and hiking. I was introduced to sports in my high school years. I was on an all-around school athletic team and was fortunate enough to travel to many other countries to compete. I played badminton, soccer, basketball, volleyball, field hockey, softball, and I ran long distance in track. I love teaching the students at Colonial Hills Elementary. My favorite thing to do at Colonial Hills is teaching P.E. and Health. I love mentoring the Garden Club, Student Lighthouse Team,  and the Safety Patrols. I thoroughly enjoy volunteering time before school and after school to coach extra-curricular activities.  This will be my 8th year at Colonial Hills, and I am looking forward to a great school year!  Thank you for allowing me to set a positive foundation for your child when it comes to living a healthy life.
