Welcome to sixth grade math and to Tejeda Middle School!

I am humbled to be your math teacher this school year and am excited to share my passion about math with students. Something I wish my teachers shared with me in middle school is how math is simply patterns and connections. I hope to demonstrate this year that math is not about right or wrong answers, its not about memorizing, and its not an ability you are or are not born with. Math is any other skill that takes practice--  like sports or a musical instrument. We will focus on patterns, connecting 6th grade skills to the math you learned in elementary school, and on the destination to the solutions.

This is my 15th year teaching and I am really excited about teaching in the district where I got my education. I attended East Terrell Hills Elementary, Fox Run Elementary, Wood Middle School, and Madison High School. After attending Texas State University in San Marcos, I moved back to San Antonio to start my career. I even bought a house around the corner from my old elementary school!

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family, tackling home renovation projects, reading, and gardening.
