There is "evidence that rigor, analysis, writing, editing, and hard work by students and teachers yield better results than either mindless test prep or endless whining about testing" (Reeves, Douglas B.).
I have experience as both a Special Education Teacher and English Language Arts and Reading Teacher at the middle school level. I provide ongoing support and expertise through comprehensive assessment, planning, implementation, and overall evaluation. I worked with students with behavioral and emotional disorders in a confined setting. I have had to re-evaluate how I monitor learner’s progress due to the number of learners I served and have learned to be proactive when problems arise. I have developed areas of strength in organization, time management, and communication. I built relationships, through self-discipline and consistency, with students who had otherwise been given up on. By building successful relationships, I have had a high level of achievement in working with my students and their families.
Prior to my experience as a teacher, I worked with individuals with diagnoses of developmental disabilities/ delays and autism as well as children from abusive, abandoned, and poverty-stricken families as a Case Manager.
