Hello! My name is Denise Colokuris and I am excited  to be your child’s Dual Kinder Teacher  this school year! This is my second year at Roan Forest and I am really honored to be part of this family. 

 I was born in El Paso, Texas, but I was raised in Chihuahua, Chihuahua, Mexico. After graduating from high school, I moved to College Station, Texas to attend Texas A&M University (Gig Em aggies!). I received my bachelors degree in Bilingual Education EC-6. I also attended Sam Houston University to continue my education and I received my masters degree in curriculum and instruction. 

  I got married to a wonderful man and we decided to move to San Antonio to start our family. This year I had my first daughter. Her name is Elena Sofia. I am blessed to be part of this district and this wonderful school. I am really passionate about teaching and having a bicultural and safe environment where students can learn  a new language.  I am super excited to get to know their own personalities and uniqueness.

Hola, Mi nombre es Denise Colokuris y estoy muy emocionada de poder ser la maestra de su hij@ este ciclo escolar. Este es mi primer año en Roan Forest y estoy muy honrada de pertenecer a esta escuela. 

 Nací en El Paso, Texas pero fui criada en Chihuahua, Chihuahua, Mexico. Después que me gradué de preparatoria me mudé a College, Station , Texas donde atendí a Texas A&M university (Gig Em aggies). Me gradué de maestra bilingüe EC-6. Decidí continuar mi educación y tomar mi maestría en línea en Sam Houston State Universiry. Mi maestría es en instrucción y plan de estudios. Este es mi tercer año como maestra. 

  Me casé con un hombre maravilloso y decidimos mudarnos a San Antonio para empezar nuestra familia. Acabo de tener a mi primer hija y se llama Elena Sofia. Ser maestra es mi vocación y me gusta crear un ambiente bicultural donde los estudiantes puedan aprender un nuevo idioma y sentirse seguros. Estoy muy emocionada por conocer sus personalidades y su autenticidad.
