Career Training
One of our certifications can help you demonstrate dedication and professional commitment to potential employers in your area of interest. It can also provide you with the opportunity to stay abreast of changes in your employment industry.
NEISD Career Training Programs are open to all qualified community members. Scholarships are reserved for Adult Education students.
Classes we offer:

English as A Second Language
NEISD Adult Education offers FREE English as a Second Language (ESL) classes for students 19 years and older, as well as high school equivalency (HSE) (aka GED) preparation classes in English and in Spanish for students 16 years and older. We also partner with NEISD Community Education to offer Career Training classes that lead to workforce certifications. Scholarships are available to those students who qualify.
High School Equivalency (GED)
Things to Consider Before You Register:
- By joining our program, you are making a commitment, a promise, to attend class on a regular basis and take required assessments. You do not pay tuition or any fees to participate in our instructional program.
- Carefully consider your work schedule, medical appointments, vacations, childcare and any other barriers that might keep you from attending your assigned class.
- Registration, orientation, testing, and classes are FREE of charge.
- Registration, orientation, and testing are held at Ferrari Learning Center, 107 W. Rampart Drive, San Antonio, TX 78216
- NO CHILDREN ALLOWED during enrollment, orientation, or in class.
Acceptable Documentation
- Age 16:
- Court order and withdrawal form from district if ever enrolled in public school or, if home schooled, letter from parent stating they were home schooled
- Age 17 or 18:
- Withdrawal form from district if ever enrolled in public school or, if home schooled, letter from parent stating they were home schooled;
AND - Any of the below:
- Parent Permission (on enrollment form)
- Court order
- Proof that 17 yr. old lives separately from parent/guardian (utility bill in their name, marriage license, rental agreement)
- Attestation of homelessness (enrollment from, admittance form from private organization-homeless shelter).
- Withdrawal form from district if ever enrolled in public school or, if home schooled, letter from parent stating they were home schooled;
NEISD Adult Education ofrece clases gratuitas que le ayudarán a prepararse para tomar el examen de GED en Español. Nuestro programa debe seguir los lineamientos establecidos por Texas Workforce Comission, y parte de ellos incluyen la instrucción de inglés como segundo idioma.
- Los estudiantes deben tener 19 años o más.

Documentos requeridos
- 16 Años:
- Orden judicial y formulario de retirada de la escuela donde haya asistido por ultima vez.
- 17+ Años:
- Formulario de retiro de la escuela si alguna vez se matriculó en una escuela pública o, si ha hecho "home-schooling", carta de parte de los padres indicando que fueron educados en el hogar;
Y - Cualquiera de los siguientes:
- Formulario de retiro de la escuela si alguna vez se matriculó en una escuela pública o, si ha hecho "home-schooling", carta de parte de los padres indicando que fueron educados en el hogar;
- Permiso de los padres (en el formulario de inscripción)
- Mandato judicial
- Prueba que el menor de 17 años vive separada del padre / guardián (factura de servicios públicos a su nombre, licencia de matrimonio, contrato de alquiler)
- Atestiguación de la falta de vivienda (matrícula de, forma de admisión de la organización privada-refugio para personas sin hogar) Puede que necesite hacer esto individualmente hasta que obtengamos más información. Es la exclusión menos común y la más difícil de documentar.
