Web Accessibility Statement

North East Independent School District (NEISD) is committed to providing equal access to its digital content and online services in accordance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act.

NEISD is working to ensure that its website and online services are accessible to all individuals, including people with disabilities. We strive to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, which provide technical standards for making digital content accessible.

Ongoing Accessibility Efforts

NEISD is continually improving the user experience for everyone by:

  • Providing training and guidance for staff who publish website content
  • Reviewing new and existing content for accessibility
  • Working with vendors to promote accessible digital tools and platforms
  • Monitoring and remediating identified accessibility barriers

Accessibility is an ongoing process, and we welcome feedback to help us improve.

If you use assistive technology (such as a screen reader, eye tracking device, or voice recognition software) and experience difficulty accessing information on the NEISD website or related digital services, please contact us:

To help us respond effectively, please include:

  • The format in which you prefer to receive the information
  • Your preferred contact information

NEISD will respond in a timely manner and make reasonable efforts to provide accessible alternatives or resolve identified barriers.

Formal Complaints

Members of the community may file a complaint regarding website accessibility through the Public Complaint process outlined in Board Policy GF. Students and parents may file a complaint through the Student and Parent Complaint/Grievances process outlined in Board Policy FNG.

Third-Party Content

Some NEISD webpages contain links to third-party websites or services. While NEISD does not control the accessibility of external content, we will work to provide accessible alternatives if access to a third-party site is necessary to participate in a district program, service, or activity.
