Although I am a native speaker of Spanish, I understand that learning a new language can be intimidating. I strive to create an atmosphere where students feel free and comfortable to speak in the target language. I will work hard to ensure your students feels comfortable and free to speak in the target language regardless of their proficiency level.

I received my B.A. in Spanish and Linguistics and M.Ed. from Texas A&M University. Whoop! I have studied and researched language acquisition theory and have seen that research be of great benefit in the classroom. I do know, though, what it is like to learn a language from scratch and be lost.  I studied Arabic and quickly fell in love with the language. But that wasn’t to say I didn’t have “cricket” moments when I had no idea what was going on. I count it as a great opportunity to spend my day working with students and I understand that teaching requires not only academic excellence but also compassion.

Since moving to San Antonio and joining the Reagan team, I have come to learn and enjoy the great traditions the Rattlers uphold. In addition to my involvement with the world language program I am also the Student Council sponsor. Being involved at school is something I have always loved and held in high regard. I look forward to working with your student this year.
