• Greetings Broncos!!

My name is Kristina Thiel and I am thrilled to be a fourth grade teacher at Vineyard Ranch Elementary!  I was born in Tacoma, Washington many (many) years ago.  San Antonio became my home in 1986 when my family moved here from Virginia.  My father was in the military, so as a child I was fortunate to live in many exciting places.   I am the middle child of three.  My older sister Kimberly lives here in San Antonio with my niece Jordyn and her son Logan, and nephew Jerad.  My younger brother Pat lives in Huntington Beach, California, with his wife Monica, my nephews Miles and Maddox, and my sweet niece Malia.  My father passed away in December and my mother lives near-by.

I graduated from U.T.S.A in 1996 with a bachelor's in Business and married my college sweetheart Eric, in December of 1999.  We have two beautiful children; Julia who is a senior at the University of Oklahoma and Chaise who is a Junior at "The" Ohio State University.  Eric and I enjoy spoiling our only remaining "baby", JayCi Blu when we are not traveling the US.

My children gave me the most beautiful gift in the spring of 2001... the realization that I loved children and wanted to spend my time helping and learning with them.  SO... back to school I went to obtain my teaching certification and I began my teaching career in 2003.  I taught in Judson ISD for three years and this is my seventeenth year teaching in NEISD.

When I am not teaching I enjoy spending time with family and friends.  Eric and I enjoy traveling and visiting our kiddos at college.  Julia plays intermural soccer in college while Chaise plays for The Ohio State University. Julia and Chaise love sports.  We also enjoy surfing and wake-boarding on the lake.  The Thiel's LOVE to vacation alothough this past summer kept us closer to home.  We have visited Costa Rica, London England, Orlando/Disney World, The Dominican Republic, the mountains of Wyoming, the coast of Maine, the beaches of California, the ski slopes of Utah, the mountains of Tennessee, and the waters of Mexico.  When I need alone time I enjoy relaxing by the pool, shopping, or planning awesome lessons for my fabulous fouth graders.

I am so excited about this school year and am confident that we will have fun learning together.  Alothough our time together will look a bit different this year, we will manage together and enjoy laughter with learning!
