    Principles of Health Science

               

                This course provides an overview of the therapeutic, diagnostic, health informatics, support services and biotechnology research and development careers in the health care industry.  Students will learn about body systems, CPR, medical abbreviations, and medical terminology.  My goal for you in this course is to help you develop your career interests and to decide it they are in one of the many Health Careers.  This class covers the required topics for graduation presented in the Healthy Life Styles class.  By taking this class you will not need to also take the Health Life Styles.

    Grades:

     

    1. Test Grades 30%
    2. Quizzes 25%
    3. Labs / Projects 25%
    4. Daily work / Homework 20%
    5. Bonus Bank 0%

     

                The semester exam will count for 20% of the semester average.

     

    Expectations:

     

                That you need to be in your seat and ready to work when the class bell rings.  This is a very large class, your work and classroom conduct affects both your and your classmates’ success.  District and school policies will be followed.  Please assure that your cell phone (and other personal electronic equipment) is off and in your pack or purse throughout class unless I give you permission to you it.  You will need a separate spiral notebook for class notes and a folder for handouts.

     

    Tutoring:

     

                Tutoring will be in room KY 131 on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday mornings from 8:00 till 8:30.  Please make an appointment with me so I will have the appropriate work/supplies ready.
