Mrs. Avitia
Hello! I'm Mrs. Avitia, your 6th grade ELAR teacher. This school year, we will work on sharpening your reading comprehension and writing process skills. Reading and Writing go hand in hand, and my goal is to help you learn more about both and hopefully enjoy yourself along the way!
I am originally from El Paso, Texas, and a UTEP grad (Go Miners!) This is my 21st year teaching; I taught 3rd and 4th grade for a total of seven years, and this is my 14th year as a Driscoll 6th grade teacher. I also serve as the ELAR Department Head. I am proud to be a Defender!
I have a husband, 2 kids, and 3 pets: a cat, a dog, and a Quaker Parrot. We have enjoyed living in San Antonio for 19 years now. In my spare time, I love to spend time with my family and friends, watch movies, listen to music, read/write, and travel. My favorite place is Disneyland!
