I am excited to be a Las Lomas Lion again this year! This is my fourth year at Las Lomas, and I am beginning my 28th year of teaching. I spent 24 years teaching middle school reading. My first 6 years were in Judson ISD, then I had the privilege of opening Tejeda Middle School and taught there for 18 years. I enjoyed serving as department chair and had an abundance of amazing students. I love teaching higher level thinking skills and digging deeper into literature. Good readers are good thinkers and writing is an art!
I am blessed with two fantastic daughters. My oldest daughter is teaching first grade in Comal ISD and my youngest works in internal audit at Valero. Both of my girls are currently pursuing a master's degree - which makes my mom heart smile! In addition to spending time with family & friends, I enjoy outdoor activities and staying active. Reading has been a passion for me since I was a child - so I love sharing good books with my students.
