Degrees and Certifications:
Bachelors in Music Education - Vocal Emphasis Texas State University - San Marcos
Bonnie K. Smith
This is my 7th year at Churchill High School as the Assistant Choir Director and the AP Music Theory teacher. I graduated in 2009 from Texas State University-San Marcos Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Music Education with an emphasis in voice. As an undergraduate, I achieved the honor of receiving the Undergraduate Excellence in Music Theory award. I currently serve as the baritone section leader with the award-winning chorus A Cappella Unlimited, a chapter of Sweet Adelines International. For the past 6 years, I've held the role of assistant musical director and microphone technician for all of Churchill’s musical productions. I have also served as the Head Female Counselor or "Camp Mom" for the Texas State All-State Prepatory Choir Camp for the past 4 years. My professional affiliations include Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA), Texas Choral Directors Association (TCDA), and Sweet Adelines International (SAI). I love teaching at Churchill and enjoy learning how to be a better teacher every day.
