Bryan Silvia

My name is Bryan Silvia and I am the Director of Bands here at Wood Middle School. This is my 10th year of teaching, and all have been here at Wood. I am so blessed and excited about teaching music through band.

I received my undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio in Music Studies. It was also in college that I met my wife who was a vocal music major. We have been married 9 years and have a 4 year old daughter named Norah and a 1 year old named Adalyn.

This year at Wood, we are continuing a curriculum that I have been in the process of creating for Beginning Band (with some parts to Honors and Symphonic as well) that incoroporates musical knowlege, skill on their instrument and character development. All of these are designed specifically to move us towards creating beauty and artistry in music making. I am incredibly excited about the potential of the richness in music learning and performance, as well as character development, that this will offer our students.

I am very excited about what this year has to offer, working alongside parents and building strong musicians and strong individuals.
