Howdy! I am Coach Cortinas and I graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. This will be my seventh year teaching and coaching at Nimitz middle school. I am looking forward to another awesome year teaching health and coaching football, basketball, track and soccer.

I Joined the North East community when I started my student teaching in October 2012. During this time I had the privilege of working at Wilshire Elementary and Madison High School.  I gained valuable experience working at these amazing schools. While working at Madison I was able to assist the football coaching staff and help the team to not only become district champs but also go to the quarterfinals in the playoffs. Once graduating, I came back to North East to sub, to gain more experience across different subjects. After subbing for a year, I landed my first teaching job at the best school anyone could ask for, Nimitz Middle School. I was hired as a 7th grade reading teacher and coach. This school is truly the place to be.
