I was born and grew up in Freeport Texas. I attended Brazosport High School, and graduated in 1977. I then worked for a few years as a welder before attending Southwest Texas State University where I studied Industrial Technology. I graduated from SWTSU in 1984 and took my first teaching position in Garland Texas at North Garland High School. I taught two years in Garland and then moved to Cleburne Texas and worked at Cleburne Jr. High teaching metal working and small engine repair for 2 years.

I took a 4 year break from teaching and tried sales- working for Allstate Insurance, but soon learned that I was not nearly as good at selling insurance as I am at teaching, so when offered a job at Nimitz Middle school in 1993 I happily accepted it.

This is my 26^th year to be a teacher at Nimitz. I have taught both Woodworking and Robotics, and I still enjoy coming to work and teaching Nimitz kids.
