Mrs. Nancy Whitehead
Hello, Wilderness Oak Wolves!
I am Mrs. Whitehead, and I am so excited to have been a part of this amazing school since we opened fifteen years ago. I absolutely LOVE teaching and creating a fun learning environment for your kids. This is my thirtieth year teaching 4th and 5th grades and my eighteenth year teaching in Texas. I graduated from Florida State University with my BS in Elementary Education and Master's degree in Educational Leadership (I am surrounded by all these Longhorns and Aggies, but I love the Florida State Seminoles!).
My wonderful family and I have been here nineteen years and absolutely love San Antonio, especially our community. My husband Ken and I have two great kids - Kalie and Mark. We are thrilled for Kalie as she just got married to Tyler Chapman, a fighter pilot for the U.S. Air Force, on the beautiful island of St. Lucia. She is an Occupational Therapist, graduated from The University of Florida and enjoying married life and her career! Since I graduated from Florida State, sending my daughter to UF is like being a Longhorn and sending your child to A&M!! Our son, Mark, played collegiate baseball at University of the Incarnate Word where he recently graduated with his Master's Degree in Business Marketing. He is now enjoying the "real world" working for Johnson and Johnson as a medical device rep. As an educator, I feel so proud and honored to teach in such an outstanding school district that truly cares about children.
I enjoy life, being with my family, exercising, eating sushi, college baseball and football, and being on or under the water. A Florida native I am, but I do love Texas!
I love seeing and teaching your precious children. I will teach, challenge, care for, and nurture each child as I hoped other teachers treated my own children.
We are in the process of having another incredibly amazing year in room 104!!
