Hi there!

I'm Ms. Strautman!  I'm a math teacher here at Tejeda Middle School.  I teach 8th grade math, Algebra 1, and Geometry.  I graduated from Nicholls State University with a bachelor's degree in education and I have a unique set of experiences in the 10 years I've been teaching.  I've taught in a number of states and settings, including public and private schools, as well as in the online setting.  I've taught general ed, special needs, and GT.  I have a passion for what I do, and I care deeply about the students I serve.

I put God first in my life, and strive to let that light shine through to those around me.  I love my family, my friends, and my pets.  In my free time, I like to make quilts.  I have been quilting for 21 years, continuing a family tradition, and I used to sell my work on Etsy.  I think the Geometry found in quilting is remarkably beautiful!  Another hobby I like to engage in is modern board gaming.  A lot of math is found within these games, as well as strategy, analytical thinking, and problem-solving.  This is enjoyable to me, but this time spent with my loved ones is what I value the most.
