Collaborator

  • Students enjoyed a day of reading! In collaboration with Kohl's volunteers, the family specialist, and community partners, Kohl’s volunteers captivated our students with wonderful read alouds. Students also benefited from a generous donation of 150 books to be placed in our free bookworm vending machine. Students have an opportunity to earn a token to get a free book when completing a reading challenge and getting spotted as a Larkspur champ.

Together classroom teachers, specials teachers and the school librarian award certificates of achievement for outstanding effort, academic achievement and student behavior.

Students were given the opportunity to read the selected books in class. They also prepared for the competition by practicing Kahoot questions. The top 4th grade class battled against the top 5th grade class for the Battle of the Book trophy.

Mrs. Ramirez, the librarian, leads this school-wide program that helps new students transition to their new campus .
