Hello, (Merhaba) Friends. This is Turkish for hello.  I'm Berzah Williams. This is my fifth year teaching Newcomer ESL students.  I have taught K-5th graders. I enjoy being a Newcomer teacher because I enjoy learning about the different cultures and languages of my many students.  So far, I have had students from Afghanistan, Sudan, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Tanzania, Egypt, Congo, Rwanda, Ethiopia, and Thailand.  I am an Air Force spouse and like to travel (CONUS and OCONUS).  Being a traveler, I had the opportunity of working for NATO and engaging with military/civilian members from 16 countries.  I enjoy being an active person (swimming and running) and hiking to experience nature.  With my travels and interactions with many cultures, I have gained an appreciation for respecting the differences in people.  I'm looking forward this semester to bringing the American culture to my Newcomer students and growing from learning from them.
