I am happy to be here at Madison High School.  The Spanish language and culture that I have experienced has changed my life and provided many wonderful opportunities for friendships, travel and work.  As the instructor of Spanish 1 and 3, I am looking for ways to motivate beginners with no prior knowledge to see the value in pursuing a second language.  I am returning to public education after a twenty-year career at the university level and as a contract linguist instructor for both the military and the government.  I have experienced and seen first-hand how proficiency in languages other than English can enhance most work situations, from local bilingual job postings to professional linguists and translators.
