• Class description: 
    Painting II: 
    Students develop and express original ideas and experiences through a variety of paint media and techniques; explore and analyze art history and culture; and evaluate artwork through discussion and critique.
    Painting III: 
    Students express original ideas and experiences; solve visual problems by developing solutions that utilize design and technical skills; expand ability with paint media; explore and analyze art history and culture; trace the influences of various cultures on contemporary artwork; develop a personal portfolio; and evaluate artwork through discussion and critique.
    Painting IV: 
    Students, through self-directed investigations, develop themes to produce an original body of artwork. The students analyze and interpret art history and culture; develop a personal portfolio and participate in a senior exhibition; analyze a wide range of artwork;and work toward mastery of drawing media.

    GOOGLE CLASSROOM:  Students will join google classroom following the code for their class period.

    SUPPLY LIST:   All of these can be purchased in our $20 painting kit or on your own. Students will need these materials for this class. Lessons will be using these materials.
                     6”x8”  mixed media sketch book                   
                     oil paint set of 12 tubes                                                 
                     8 oz linseed oil                                                         
                     watercolor set of 12 colors tubes preferably                       
                     6 brush set: round, flat, angular, small detail, fan (make sure they are multi use)

    Supply fees can be paid by cash, check, money order, or through the School Cash Online System (https://neisd.schoolcashonline.com/).  Please put the payment in a sealed envelope labeled with the student’s name and course and return to Mrs. Thomas
                                           Checks should be made out to Roosevelt High School Art Department.
                                                Please write the student’s name in the memo line.
                                          Payment may be dropped off at the main office, or mailed to:

    A receipt will be given to each student when the payment is received. (Cash online would be best because of COOVID)
