Ms. Cassandra Nodine
Cassandra Nodine is the Instructional Dean of English at Roosevelt High School and teaches Academic Literacy courses.
She is a 16-year career educator with experience teaching in Oklahoma, Asia, Europe, Central America, and Texas. Ms. Nodine has taught 10th, 11th, and 12th-grade on-level, honors, and AP English, as well as composition courses at the college level, and has served as an instructional coach and professional development coordinator.
In addition, Ms. Nodine has received teaching fellowships in China, South Africa, and Germany, and is a United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Teacher Fellow and a National Geographic Grosvenor Teacher Fellow.
In her classroom, Ms. Nodine hopes to encourage participatory and experiential learning with a focus on equity, social justice, and human rights education in an effort to support students' conceptions of themselves as global citizens.
In her free time, Ms. Nodine reads, kayaks, hikes, goes to concerts, cycles, and plays with her rescue dogs, Penelope and Rufus. She is currently finishing her dissertation on the relationship between leadership styles and teacher self-efficacy with an expected Ph.D. in May of 2021.
