The El Dorado Library is a welcoming, resource-rich space where we promote the love of reading, curate a diverse collection of resources and integrate technology in order to empower students to fulfill their curiosities and share their discoveries.

Research Projects/Lessons
Research Projects:
- Kindergarten: Animals / Community Helpers
- First Grade: Colonial Times research
- Second Grade: Animal Research
- Third Grade: Rapid Changes
- Fourth Grade: Weather
- Fifth Grade: Science
Each research project involved collaboration between the teachers and the library. Some grades completed the entire research process in the library, others were provided with print and digital resources and some used the library space to complete the project.

- Kindergarten: Coding with Beebots
- 1st grade: Seesaw illustrations

Collaboration
The librarian collaborated with each grade level to complete research projects and collaborated on resources for lessons throughout the year. The librarian collaborated with the Family Specialist to prepare lessons for members of the Parent Academy.
Other Programming in the Library
Makerspace: Students had time to explore their creative, problem solving side while using various materials such as Keva Planks and IO Blocks.
The library is the hub of the school many activities take place each day in the library. Here are some examples of how the library space is utilized:

Technology Integration
Technology was incorporated in many library lessons this year with the hope that the skills, apps and programs used will be used again outside of the library.
Examples
- PebbleGo: Students enjoyed both the English and Spanish resources available for emerging readers in PebbleGo.
- Chatterkid: Students used Chatterkid to create videos about recycling and reusing materials.
- Seesaw: Students used Seesaw to document and share their learning.
- Google Forms: Students voted for their favorite Bluebonnet nominee using Google Forms.
- QR Codes: Kids brought iPads into the library to scan codes that led them to different stories that they then read in either the library or back in their classroom.

Staff/Parent Training & Leadership
Staff & Parent Training
- Parents were taught how to obtain a library card, how to access digital resources and how to use QR readers.
- The librarian helped many staff members troubleshoot technical issues.
Leadership
Through various leadership roles, the librarian collaborated with other staff members to make decisions that help maximize student learning opportunities, improve the campus atmosphere, and share the great things happening on campus.
