Decade Research Unit (6th Social Studies): Students explored and researched important historical and pop culture events from a decade and created a new report using the green screen.
Holocaust Genius Hour Research (8th Grade ELAR) Students chose a subtopic to research and created a short informational video using Adobe Spark.
Self-selected Research for 3D Model Project (Makerspace Club) Students chose a topic, researched, and created a 3D model representation of their topic.
World War II Research (6th grade Social Studies) Students researched a topic within World War II and created a webpage with the information learned.
For each research project, the librarian provided recommended digital resources and technology guides (with videos created in Screencastify).
Professional Development with Instructional Technology Specialist: Various professional development sessions were prepared and hosted by the ITS and librarian such as Lunch N’ Learn, Library Resource and Technology Lifesavers, and more.
First Lego League: Astronaut Training and Virtual Reality Research. The librarian met with the FLL school team to provide recommended books, recommended digital research, and support for developing research for their solution to the FLL project.
Hands-on Life in a Spanish Mission Research (7th Grade Texas History) Students learned about the Spanish Missions by doing various tasks that represented duties of Spanish Monks.
AVID Career Research-Students researched various career fields using Learning Express digital resource and presented to their peers.
7th Grade Writing STAAR Bootcamp-The librarian supported a week long STAAR review which included various stations.

3D Printing-The week of Valentines Day, we hosted a “Spread the Love” event where students could print one 3D object for free.

Holocaust Research (8th grade Choir)-The girls advanced choir prepared for their performance of “When I am Silent” by researching the history behind the song. The lesson included a learning menu with direct access to NEISD library digital resources, National Holocaust Museum resources, and learning extensions.
