• WELCOME!

Welcome to !  We are not just here to create beautiful artwork, although it does come along with the territory!  We do our best in the visual arts to connect to our world.  We will not only learn the basic elements and principles of art and design in Art 1, we will also learn new ways to think, problem solve, time manage and create, all while finding innovative ways to connect to our local and global communities!  Advanced drawing classes will explore a variety of medium while finding our voice and our vision in the works we create!

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ART 1, 2 AND 3?

  • GRADING:

    PERFORMANCE: 20%

    QUIZZES/MINOR PROJECTS: 30%

    TESTS/MAJOR PROJECTS: 50%

Late work: Please see District Grading Policy

The expectation is for students to complete their work, to the best of their ability, in the time given.  I am looking for students who attempt to use the tools I am teaching, give their best effort, show me their process AT SCHOOL and manage their time.  It is important for me to see their process so that I might offer guidance and assess their growth.

  • A MESSAGE FROM MS. MYKE:

This year will be different!  What an opportunity for us to explore some new ideas, evolve and "level up."  I know for sure we will have our share of challenges along the way but some of the greatest things have come from those challenges.  I look forward to brainstorming sessions and stimulating conversations on how we can implement lots of new tools and concepts into the creative process!!  Let's see what we can do!!
