This choir is designed for 6th grade students with a focus on developing healthy vocal technique, sight reading skills, ear training, music literacy, historical and cultural relevance, simple choreography skills, critical evaluation and response skills, effective rehearsal techniques, appropriate audience and performance etiquette, and solo and ensemble performances of various types of choral and vocal music. Students will develop self-discipline and learn to work cooperatively.
Students may participate in Solo and Ensemble Contest, and may earn participation through a points-based system (found on the last page of the handbook) in December’s Tobin Library/Incredible Pizza performance (2 pts. min.), and the ZDT’s Kidz’ in the Park Festival in May (6 pts. min.)
