Ms. Kimberly Varner, M.Ed.

Ms. Varner has been an educator for 17 years.  She taught middle school Social Studies for 8 years before moving to a Central Office position as a Social Studies Curriculum Specialist in another district.  After 5 years as the K-12 Social Studies Specialist, Ms. V REALLY missed working directly with students!  So, she chose to return to a teaching position.  Ms. V has a Master's of Education in Counseling & Development, a Master's of Education in Education Administration and a Bacelor of Science in Computer Information Systems.

Ms. V is married and the parent/step-parent of 7 children aged 24 to 6.  She is an animal lover and has a dog, a cat, 8 chickens, a pygmy goat, and a bunch of koi fish in her pond.  In addition to their family pets, the Varner family rasied a Guide Dog Puppy-in-Training for Guide Dogs for the Blind named Alto (his mother, Primrose, is in the indie movie Pick of the Litter!).  The family also raised 3 show pigs and a steer with Madison HS's Agriscience Magnet Program and James Madison FFA.

Ms. V holds many certifications including: School Counselor, EC-12 Principal, 4-8 Generalist, 7-12 Social Studies, and an English as a Second Language supplement.

In their spare time, Ms. V's family likes to travel in their camper, Miss Ellie, who is named at for the little girl in the movie Up.  Adventure is out there and the Varner Family is going to find it!
