I have been teaching since 1990 and have been a Castle Hills Roadrunner since 2014.  I previously taught Physical Education at Round Rock ISD and in Corpus Christi, Tx.  .

In college, I was a dual sport athlete, competing in track and field, cross-country and volleyball at Texas Tech University on scholarship. I received my teaching certificate from Texas State University and also attained a Master's in Education degree from Texas State University. 

In 1997, I joined the U.S. Army and was stationed in Hawaii for four years.  During my enlistment, I was deployed four times on missions around the world, including Bangladesh, Kosrea, Guam, and Tonga.  While deployed on missions, I was able to teach college English courses to soldiers in my unit, which enabled them to acquire college credits while deployed.  

In my spare time, I love traveling.  I have visited all 50 states and have traveled to a myriad of National Parks, monuments and museums, including Little Big Horn, Mount Rushmore, Washington DC (Congress and the White House), Redwood National Park and the Grand Canyon.  I enjoy American History and have seen many landmarks and sites, including Pearl Harbor, Gettysburg, Antietam, Fort McHenry and the Freedom Trail in Boston.  My next adventures will be overseas to countries in Europe.

I am an advocate for health and fitness and believe the elementary years set the stage for a lifetime of wellness.  It is a privilege to be able to assist students with taking responsibility for their health and well-being for a lifetime.  I consider myself one of the most fortunate teachers in education, since I am able to teach all grade levels (K-5) physical education skills, knowledge and leadership.  It is truly amazing to watch students grow - physically, emotionally and academically, over the years.  Teaching at Castle Hills Elementary is an honor that brings so much joy to each and every day.  This campus is truly a special place to learn and grow.
