My name is Jessica McConnell and I am currently a French teacher at Roosevelt High School in San Antonio, Texas. This fall I will be teaching all levels of French and will also be the sponsor for the French Club.
I developed my passion for learning languages while attending school in my hometown of Clarkston, Michigan. Later, while attending Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan, I noticed that I also loved helping others as a tutor, teaching assistant, volunteer, mentor for Big Brothers/Big Sisters of America, and resident assistant. As a result, I applied for the College of Education and obtained my teaching degree in December of 2008. I moved to San Antonio, Texas and started teaching full-time in 2010. Years later, I still love helping students not only to learn the languages I love but also to find and develop other passions of their own, to become critical thinkers, to never give up, and to know how to find and utilise resources to help them succeed in whatever they choose.
I currently reside in San Antonio with my husband, my son Eli, two dogs named Prince and Grace, and a cat named Pawdre. My hobbies include: spending time with my family, reading and writing, drawing and painting, learning languages, listening to and making music, travelling, cooking, baking, volunteering, geneology research, flying, attending air shows, playing chess/board games, and playing video games.
