    Objectives:

    This course expands upon the information presented in Principles of Health Science including an overview of the therapeutic, diagnostic, health informatics, support services and biotechnology research and development careers in the health care industry.  Students will learn about body systems, CPR, and Occupation Specific Skills.  My goal for you in this course is to help you develop your career interests and to decide if they are in one of the many Health Careers.  This course is now a prerequisite course for Practicum in Health Science, (Hospital) Clinical Rotation.

    DHO Health Science by Louise Simmers, Karen Simmers-Nartker, and Sharon Simmers-Kobelak (part of a classroom set; your student will not need to sign one out)

    Grading Policy:

    Test Grades                30%

    Quizzes                       25%

    Projects                       25%

    Daily Work                  20%

    Bonus Bank                0%

                The semester exam will count for 20% of the semester average.

    Expectations:

    Be respectful to all including self, classmates, and teacher.  Arrive to class on time and be prepared with necessary materials ready to learn.  Follow all guidelines as listed in the Reagan student handbook.

    Tutoring:

    Tutoring will be available in KY 131 on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8:00 – 8:30 a.m.  Please let me know if you will be coming for tutoring so that I can have materials ready for you.  My goal is to see you succeed in this course.  If you find that you are struggling, please ask for help!
