Welcome everyone!

My name is Amy Wasetis-McMillen (mostly known around school as Ms. Wasetis) and I will be returning as the Gifted and Talented (GT) teacher. Previously, I taught 4th grade and 1st grade at Northern Hills. I can't wait for my 5th year at Northern Hills!

A little background on me: I graduated from Texas A&M in 2017 with a degree in Communication and Sociology. From there I went to Austin to work for an Americorps program called Literacy First where I taught 1-on-1 with kinder-2nd graders on literacy development. This is where my passion for teaching took off! I decided to move to California to complete a hybrid Master's program where I was able to teach full time with a mentor teacher while also completing coursework from the University of the Pacific. I graduated in 2019 with my Master's in Curriculum and Instruction and shortly after began at Northern Hills for the 2019-2020 school year.  As a former NEISD student, I have great pride in our district and I am really enjoying getting to become a part of the NH community.
