My name is Janet Hoffman and I am so excited to be your fifth grade HAM teacher!  I am sure that you are anxious to know a little bit about the teacher you will be spending the next year with. 

I grew up in a little town called Sugar Land, Texas.  When I was a sophomore in high school I was given the opportunity to go to a college preparatory school in Kents Hill, Maine.  I loved going to Kents Hill because it not only gave me a first-rate education, but it gave me the opportunity to meet and go to school with children from all over the world!  After high school I went to Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas, and later graduated from The University of Texas in San Antonio with a BA in Education.  I have been teaching since 1990, with several years taken off in between to be a mom.  I have taught second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth grade math, and 5th grade Hyper-Accelerated Math.  Fifth grade HAM is my absolute favorite!

I am blessed with an amazing husband, Craig, and two wonderful children! When I am not at school you will find me enjoying time with my family, participating in all river activities (fishing, tubing, kayaking, paddleboarding), traveling, watching football (Hook 'Em!), swimming, skiing, shopping, or reading.  I look forward to spending a fantastic year with all of you!
