Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies Minor in Reading Minor in Special Education Certification EC-6 Certification English as a Second Language Certification TELPAS Rater

Mrs. Bigelow

This year will be my first year at BC, my fourth year with NEISD, and my sixth year of teaching!  I have taught 4th grade for 4 years, and this will be my second year teaching 3rd grade.  I am a fourth generation elementary teacher and couldn’t be more thrilled to be a Texan!  I graduated from University of the Incarnate Word in 2012 with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies (Elementary Education), and a minor in Emergent Literacy and a minor in Special Education.  I am certified to teach Early Childhood through sixth grade, and also English as a Second Language.

I have two boys, Braden (10) and Barrett (9) who attend Redland Oaks ES, and my husband, Bret, is a high school history teacher at Saint Mary’s Hall.

Some of my favorite things to do are gardening, sketching, spending time with my family, dancing, and painting southwest landscapes.  I also enjoy arts and crafts and looking on Pinterest for new ideas!

My favorite subjects are science and ELA, my favorite color is purple, and I love anything sweet!  My family has 2 ranches in South TX and a house in Santa Fe that we vacation at each summer.
