Mrs. Ashley Pierson

My name is Ashley Pierson, I have been in the cosmetology field for 13 years and taught both publicly and privately for 8 years. I attended Aveda Institute of San Antonio where I obtained my cosmetology training and certification. I am licensed with the state as both an Operator and Instructor. From there I worked behind the chair, and still do, while also teaching in house education for different salons as well as teaching regional color for Aveda. I lived in both New Orleans and Nashville where i taught Regional Color for Aveda and also taught at the Aveda Institute of Nashville. I eventually made my way back to Texas where I taught at the Aveda Institute in Austin. From there i transitioned into teaching High School Cosmetology.

I come from a family of teachers and principals so by teaching cosmetology I get the best of both worlds- Cosmetology and Education. I am a huge believer and advocate for High School programs and recently participated in educating others on why this is a necessary option for High School students.

My program is a 4 year program and upon completion of their hours and tests students can graduate with their Cosmetology License. It is a very rigrous 4 year program but produces endless opportunities for students who see it all the way through.

The program is as follows:

9th: Principles of Hair Design and Color Theory (1 class period)

10th: Introduction to Cosmetology (1 class period)

11th: Cosmetology 1  (2 class periods)

12th: Cosmetology 2 (2 class periods)
