Hello! My name is Adan Gonzalez. I teach the 6th grade DATA Tech Apps class in room 2414. I received my Master of Arts and Teaching degree from Trinity University in 2014 and have been teaching ever since. I am starting my 8th year teaching here at DATA and enjoy seeing what my students create once they know how to make some digital art.

In 2014, I graduated from the Master of Arts and Teaching program at Trinity University here in San Antonio and taught Mandarin Chinese for 4 years before working here. I'm excited to start this chapter of my life and continue the great work being done in the DATA program.

Technology connects so many people to other people and new ideas everywhere. When used intentionally and mindfully, the possibilities of technology are infinite. My work is meaningful to me because I learn and grow with my students as they begin to understand some of the possibilities and begin to regularly ask the question, "What is possible?" So I hope that my students will take the skills they learn in my class and use those skills beyond my classroom walls. "Ours is a culture immensely rich in trash as it is treasures," and we need more people to make and cultivate the treasures.

Developing skills and gaining knowledge are both important pursuits, but what's most important for me is meaningful connection and intentional growth. Every day, as I spend time with my students teaching and guiding them, I strive to empower, support and respect them as well as I can and as often as I can. If I can forge a meaningful connection with each of my students as they set their own intentions based on what they learn from me or with me, I'll have done something meaningful and that'd just be swell.
