• 2019-2020 Golf Team Tryout Information

Tryouts for 1st period Junior Varsity Golf will take place the first week of school. Please note that incoming players will automatically be placed in 1st period. Tryouts will be held at our on-campus facility. At the conclusion of the week, Coach Aki and I will meet to determine which players will be cut, remain in 1st period JV, or be invited to Varsity tryouts. If your son or daughter is asked to attend Varsity tryouts, they will come to Canyon Springs promptly at 4:30 PM August 26th and 27th. There is not a specific score requirement that your child must meet to make the Varsity team—tryouts will consist of a skills assessment based on short game and on course play. At the conclusion of the Tuesday’s round, both coaches will make placement determinations so that your child’s schedule can be adjusted if they need to move to 8th period Varsity.

Please feel free to email me with questions at bfurge@neisd.net. You may also feel free to pass along the information to any other students who may be interested in pursuing golf at Reagan High School.  Thank you all, and I look forward to working with your kids next year!

In order for your son or daughter to be eligible to try out for JV and/or Varsity, they need to be cleared to play through the Rank One portal. If a player is not cleared, I am not allowed to have them perform any kind of athletic activity. This is of the utmost importance! You and your athlete will need you to go online to https://www.rankonesport.com/Main/DistrictLookup.aspx to turn in the physical/medical history form. Additionally, an athlete participation packet must be submitted through this link. Until these forms are in, your child can’t participate in team activities or tryouts.

Ms. Bailey Furgeson

Welcome students!

My name is Bailey Furgeson. I teach GT Interdisciplinary 1 and 2, and serve as the Head Golf Coach.

I grew up in Loomis, California where I attended Del Oro High School. As a freshman, I served as class president and made the varsity golf team, which I competed on all four years. In my spare time, I volunteered teaching golf through The First Tee of Greater Sacramento.

After graduation, I moved to San Antonio to play golf on scholarship at St. Mary's University where I earned my Bachelor of Arts in English. In 2015, I became the Graduate Assistant Golf Coach for the University of the Incarnate Word as I earned my Master of Arts in Communications.

I am excited to join the Reagan staff and look forward to meeting you all!
