Degrees and Certifications:
B.A. Restaurant, Hotel and Institutional Management B.S. Music Education
This is my 30th year of being a band director and I am proud to be an original Timberwolf. Prior to coming to Tejeda, I was the head director for three years at Jackson Middle School also in North East and the second associate director for five years at Brazoswood High School in Clute, Texas. I have two undergraduate degrees from Texas Tech University. One in Restaurant, Hotel and Institutional Management and another in Music Education. I was a member of the Troopers Drum and Bugle Corps from Casper, Wyoming marching euphonium and later serving as a marching instructor for the corps and this year serving as the member liaison. I started my musical journey as a clarinet player and played saxophone in jazz band at Ed White Middle School in San Antonio. Later I was selected as the Drum Major for Roosevelt High School my senior year. I played bass clarinet in the top band at Texas Tech and bari sax in the top jazz band. Later I learned to play euphonium so I could march drum corps and came back from that and learned to play tuba for the Goin' Band from Raiderland where I also served as band wagon driver for two years.
I am blessed to have a wonderful wife and two wonderful daughters. I love all sports and love all kinds of food. I look forward to another year of making wonderful music with great students.
