Mr. Erik Cavazos
Currently, I am a graduate student at the University of Texas at San Antonio, as part of the Music Education program.
I am now in my fifth year directing the orchestras at Tejeda Middle School and I am excited to experience the growth of our students and fine orchestra program.
In addition to directing the orchestras at Tejeda, I also am the director of the UTSA String Project Orchestra Summer Camp held at UTSA.
Since 2016, I have served on the Education Committee as the Summer Education Coordinator with the Classical Music Institute (CMI) of San Antonio- a non profit organization that brings world class artist instructors to teach orchestra students in Bexar County.
Beginning in 2018, I also will join the conducting staff with the Youth Orchestras of San Antonio as the Sinfonietta Orchestra conductor.
Professional affiliations include Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA), Texas Orchestra Directors Association (TODA), and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia National Fraternity.
