Mr. Michael R. Schwarze

Lieutenant Commander Schwarze enlisted in the Navy in July of 1977. He is a graduate of Data Systems “A” school, various Data Systems “C” schools, and the Navy’s Instructor Training Program.   He is a 1989 graduate of the University of Texas, earning a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Management, and his commission as a Supply Officer.  LCDR Schwarze graduated from the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College in June of 2000.His sea tours include:  Data Systems Technician aboard USS BLUE RIDGE (LCC-19), Supply Officer aboard USS WOODROW WILSON (SSN 624), and Material Officer aboard USS Belleau Wood (LHA-3).His shore tours include: Data Systems Instructor at the Combat Systems School, Mare Island, CA, the Enlisted Education Advancement Program at Solano Junior College in Fairfield, CA, the Enlisted Commissioning Program at the University of Texas in Austin, TX, the Personnel Exchange Program at the Canadian National Defense in Ottawa, Canada, and as the Supply Officer and Budget Officer in the Navy Section at the United States Military Training Mission in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.   He completed his final tour as the Navy Section Chief and Budget Officer in the Office of Defense Cooperation at the U.S. Embassy in Rabat, Morocco. LCDR Schwarze retired from the Navy on July 1, 2005 after 28 years of honorable service.  Lieutenant Commander Schwarze is authorized to wear the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Joint Services Commendation Medal, the Navy Commendation Medal, the Navy Achievement Medal, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, the Armed Forces Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, the Military Outstanding Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, and various service and unit ribbons.

 Mr. Schwarze has been teaching for the past seventeen years, currently at James Madison High School in San Antonio, TX. in the Career and Technical Education Department. He teaches engineering and financial management classes. His hobbies include golf and cooking.

 Mr. Schwarze and his two children, Stella and Ryan, reside in San Antonio, Texas.  His son Alexander,daughter-in-law Erica, and grandbaby Henry reside in Dallas, Texas.
