Laurie Smith
I am a Phi Beta Kappa, cum laude graduate of Baylor University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. I have taught English, reading, speech, theater arts, and creative writing.
I took 9 years off early in my career to stay home with my children, Sarah and Rachel. Sarah, her husband David, and their dog Ollie live in California. Rachel finished her Master of Arts in Teaching at Trinity University in May and is now teaching 8th grade math. My husband is a psychology professor, therapist, former marathoner, and very funny guy.
I enjoy reading, movies, reality tv, and theater (especially musical theater). I also enjoy naps. I love coffee, dark chocolate, Diet Coke, and keeping up with friends on Facebook.
2017-2018 is my 24th year in the classroom and my 11th year at ISA. I'm looking forward to making memories with the class of 2020!
