This is my 15th year teaching at Churchill High School and I plan to be here many more years to come! Over the years I have taught English Resource I-IV, general ed English I-IV (as the co-teacher), Reading Resource I-IV, Applied Skills, and Redirection. I am currently teaching four periods of Reading Resource and two periods of English IV co-teach.
I was born and raised in San Antonio and am a product of NEISD schools. After graduating from ACE high school, I attended the University of Texas at San Antonio. My student teaching was performed here at Churchill and I was hired upon completion of the program. Teaching special education was the one career I always wanted to have, so I am happy to say I am living my dream.
At home, I am mom to nine children ages infant to 23 years old. I come from a family of adoption and carried that on with my own children. I was a foster/adopt parent for 12 years. Some of my children are special ordered, and some are home grown, but they are mine all the same. In my (random and rare) free time, I enjoy family time with my husband and children, attending my kid's extra curricular functions, traveling, swimming, reading, playing word games, going to festivals, and seeing live music shows.
