I have been the Orchestra Director at Lopez Middle School since it opened in 2007. Prior to coming to Lopez, I was the orchestra director at Driscoll MS and before that, at Garner MS.  I started playing the violin when I was eight years old and studied privately through college. I received my bachelor's degree in Music Education from DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois, and moved to San Antonio in 1982.

Currently I am a member of Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Orchestra Directors Association, and Mu Phi Omicron.

I am married to Craig Sorgi, who was a member of the 1st violin section of the San Antonio Symphony, and now the San Antonio Philharmonic.  We are the proud parents of two boys who live on opposite ends of the country! Colin is a violist with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and is married to Jaclyn, who is also a music teacher.  Colin and Jackie have two children - our beautiful granddaughters, Clara is 5 and Chloe is 2. Our younger son, Cameron, is a compositor at a visual effects studio in Los Angeles.  His name is in the credits for many Marvel movies!  Cameron is married to Jenna, who is a producer at Riot games.  We have two fur babies; a 7 year old golden retriever named Bravo and a cat, Padma.  In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, baking, reading, and watching TV.
