I started out as an elementary teacher but soon realized that I really enjoy working with middle schoolers.  Science is a great subject to teach because students come in to class excited and ready to learn. Hopefully my classroom is an environment that maximizes student success with engaging activies, positive interactions, and a stimulating learning atmosphere.

Almost all of my teaching career has been here at Jackson!  I grew up in Dallas and graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in Curriculum and Instruction.  I am certified to teach any subject K-6 and Science 1-8.  I also earned my MA in Marriage and Family Therapy from St. Mary's University. I love teaching the students here at Jackson; every day is different, and that's part of what makes my job fun!

I am also lucky to be the 8th grade PALS teacher.  PALS are a group of students selected for their leadership skills, integrity, and desire to mentor others.  These students are motivated and kind-hearted; it's a pleasure to work with them.

My husband is also an Aggie, and we have 3 adopted daughters who are 17, 19, and 8.   I am an animal enthusiast and have 2 dogs, a cat, and a betta fish at home.  I also have 2 aquariums, a hamster that has gone missing, and will soon have 2 pet rats!
