I became a teacher because I love the learning and teaching process.  My favorite moment that I LIVE for is the "light bulb" moment when a student fully understands a concept and they "get it".  My classroom environment is structured and disciplined for student's calm, safety, and learning. 

I am available to all my students and parents by email, Remind, Google Voice, and Google Classroom message. I have created two accounts for Remind- one for 6th grade Social Studies and one for 7th grade Texas History.  Please do not sign up for both. 

For relaxation and inspiration, I like to watch TV/movies, read books, and spend time with my family and friends.  I am a graduate of Southwest High School, San Antonio, TX and a graduate of The University of the Incarnate Word.  I have two bachelor's degrees:  History and Interdisciplinary Education (middle school education).  I am certified to teach grades 1-8; history for grades 6-8.  The 2022-2023 school year is my 24rd year of teaching and my 18th year at Dwight D. Eisenhower Middle School.  This school year I am teaching 6th grade Social Studies and 7th grade Texas History.
