Welcome to 5th grade!!!

іBienvenidos al 5° grado!

I am excited to start a new school year at Regency Place!

іEstoy emocionada por comenzar un nuevo año en Regency Place!

     This is my sixth year as a 5^th grade dual language teacher at Regency Place and my third year as a math teacher for the dual students and fourth grade A-P students. I have enjoyed working with our amazing community all of these years.

     I believe in education and that we can find learning opportunities all around us. I like to encourage my students to reach their highest potential and love to motivate them by providing fun learning opportunities. I believe that learning can be fun and through hard work and active participation, all students will succeed. My goal as an educator is to help my students grow academically, to be successful in the classroom and to be prepared to succeed in life. I believe that every student is special and has the potential to achieve his/her goals with appropriate support and guidance. I believe in my students’ success and I am proud of their accomplishments in school as well as in life in general!

     About me… I am originally from Mexico City, I obtained my bachelors and graduate degrees from UNAM. I worked in the health field there for many years. After relocating to San Antonio, TX due to my husband’s job, I returned to college and received a Masters in Public Health for the UTHSC-H. I had the opportunity to collaborate with a children’s health program and that gave me the opportunity to start teaching elementary school children. Shortly after I decided to start teaching Spanish in elementary level afterschool programs. This is where I discovered how much I enjoy working in the classroom. I obtained my educational certifications and continued teaching since.

     I am excited and can’t wait to get started!!!

     Este es mi sexto año como maestra de 5^° grado de doble lenguaje en Regency Place y  mi tercer año como maestra de matematicas. He disfrutado trabajar con nuestra maravillosa comunidad todos estos años.

     Creo en la educación y en que las oportunidades de aprender están a nuestro alrededor. іMe gusta motivar a mis estudiantes brindándoles divertidas oportunidades de aprendizaje y también alentarlos en todo momento! Creo que el aprendizaje puede ser divertido y a través de arduo trabajo y participación activa, todos los estudiantes obtendrán el éxito. Mi meta como educadora es ayudar a mis estudiantes a crecer académicamente, para que sean exitosos en el salón de clases y para que estén preparados para tener éxito en la vida. Creo que cada estudiante es especial y tiene el potencial de alcanzar sus metas con el apoyo y guía adecuadas. Creo en el éxito de mis estudiantes y me enorgullecen sus logros en la escuela y en la vida en general.

     Acerca de mi… Soy originaria de la Ciudad de México, obtuve mis grados de bachillerato y especialidad por la UNAM. Trabajé en el área de la salud por varios años. Despues de mudarme a San Antonio TX, debido al trabajo de mi esposo, regrese a la universidad y obtuve una materia en Salud Publica por UTHSC-H. Fue entonces que tuve la oportunidad de colaborar con un programa de salud para niños y esto me dio la oportunidad de comenzar la enseñanza de niños de primaria. Poco después decidí enseñar Español a niños de primaria en programas después de la escuela. Ahí descubrí lo mucho que me gustaba trabajar en el salón de clases. Obtuve mis certificaciones en educación y me he dedicado a la enseñanza desde entonces.
