Mrs. Carr

Hi! My name is Robin Carr. I was born in Brooklyn, New York and lived there until I was 3 years old. Then, my family moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and I lived there until I joined the U.S. Army in 1981. After joining the U.S. Army, I decided that I enjoyed it so much that I wanted to make it a career. Finally, after 20 ½ years of honorable service, I decided to retire in 2002 so I could spend more time with my family.

After the military, I worked in government service as a Training Specialist. Later, I decided to pursue a career in teaching. I attended an alternative teaching program and became a certified teacher in the State of Texas. This will be my 10th year of teaching and I enjoy it very much! I have taught in the public-school sector as well as overseas. Last year, I returned from China after teaching three years in an elementary school. I firmly believe that our children are tomorrow’s future and to prepare them, we must provide them with exceptional education today.

Regarding my education, I received a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Education degree specializing in Dental Science and Business from Wayland Baptist University. I also have a Master of Arts degree in Human Resource Development from Webster University.

For the past 40 years, I have been happily married to my husband, Jerry. We have two children whom we love dearly. Our daughter, Jasmine is 33 years old and our son, Deandre is 20 years old. As a family, we love to spend time together doing fun activities such as traveling to different places.

This will be my first year here at Longs Creek and I am looking forward to teaching my students and supporting the Longs Creek Elementary School community.
