Miss Jordan Diggs

    I am so excited to get back into the classroom after taking a two-year hiatus from teaching. I look forward to guiding students to find their creative voice and gain self-confidence in the arts. My love for the arts started at a young age and continues to grow. I attended Alamo Heights ISD and grew up in San Antonio, Texas. In 2008, I journeyed up to Boston,MA to attend Massachusetts College of Art and Design for my undergraduate degree in Art Education with a focus in Community Art Education and Film. In 2012, I moved back to Texas and began teaching art at a local community studio in Alamo Heights called Artworks. During this time, I showed my artwork at local galleries and businesses. In 2016, I moved to Albuquerque, NM to pursue teaching in a public school setting and enjoy all the outdoor recreational activities offered in New Mexico. I taught art at Rio Rancho Middle School for 3.5 years just outside of Albuquerque, New Mexico. In 2018, I began my graduate degree at the University of New Mexico in Art Education and completed my program in Spring 2022 with a 4.06 GPA. During my time at the University of New Mexico, I spent much of my academic endeavors learning about Multicultural Art Education and ways to respectfully integrate indigenous culture into the art curriculum.

    When I am not teaching in the classroom, you can find me playing with my two dogs, in a yoga class, or watching a good TV series. On holiday breaks I enjoy traveling and spending my free time in the outdoors doing activities like hiking, camping, & skiing. My two favorite places to visit are Hawaii and the Pacific North West because of all the outdoor activities and natural beauty that surrounds you. I enjoy creating mixed media art that usually takes on a whimsical vibe.

Art is my voice and way of understanding the world around me- without art and creative expression, life wouldn't make sense.
