After student teaching at Reagan last fall, I got the wonderful opportunity to join the faculty as an AP Biology and Honors Biology teacher last spring! I had so much fun sharing my love for biology with such bright, talented, and entertaining students. I am so excited to be back for the 2022-2023 school year! 

I received my Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from the University of Texas at Austin. I then spent 3 years as a researcher in a neuroscience research lab at UT, while also dabbling in teaching as a biology lab instructor and teaching assistant for the introductory neuroscience courses. I fell in love with teaching-I loved getting students as excited about the beautiful process of science as I was! I wanted to share this love and passion with high school students who may not have discovered their own passion for science yet, which is why I went on to get my TEA teaching certificate. I can confidently say this is the career path that was meant for me...I feel so lucky that I get to talk about science with students all day. :-)

I am extremely dedicated to helping my students not only find success in biology, but to find a subset of biology they are passionate about. I also love to learn about the things outside of science that students are passionate about...please invite me to your shows, concerts, and games. :-)

Outside of teaching AP and Honors Biology, I have taken on the role of UIL Academic Coordinator and UIL Science Coach. UIL Academics is an academic competition designed to motivate students as they acquire higher levels of knowledge, to challenge students to confront issues of importance, and to provide students with the opportunity to demonstrate mastery of specific skills. Students are challenged to think critically and creatively, exhibiting much more than knowledge and comprehension.
