Carol Ketzle
I am excited to continue as principal of Wilshire Elementary School. My career in education spans 36 years. During my first 18 years, I was a teacher in several assignments and schools gaining experience in grades K-high school. For the past 18 years I have worked as an assistant principal and principal in NEISD. I truly love the Wilshire community and feel fortunate to have spent 13 years working with families, teachers and students to continue the excellence and traditions that were begun here in 1957.
My family and I are natives of Illinois and moved to Texas in 1982. My husband is a retired teacher and my three children are grown and gainfully employed. My daughter, Kelly, followed the family teaching tradition and teaches in Richardson, TX. My oldest son, Jeff, is a nurse practitioner in Plano, TX and he and his wife blessed us with a beautiful granddaughter, Caitlyn, in Feb. 2007. My son Keith is an engineer with Frito Lay Corp. in Plano, TX. We have become very familiar will interstate 35, as staying connected is important.
Our theme this year is, “There is No Place like HOPE.” In our work we must instill hope and help children set lofty goals. With the help of everyone in the Wilshire community we can help these goals become realities. Our children are our future. Let’s stay connected and work for the success of all children.
My Vision
Wilshire is a community place where all children are valued. Adults create an environment where the belief is that together the work will be done so that all children learn and build lives that are purposeful.
Wilshire is a caring place where children are taught to support each other and build relationships with their teachers and peers. Diversity is embraced and learning has many faces and facets.
Wilshire is a place where it is expected that all children will learn and contribute to their community. Teachers work together, harmony is visible, innovation is embraced, and the understanding is “our work is ever changing and most important”.
Wilshire is a place where lives intertwine and all become better individually and collectively.
Wilshire is a caring community where harmony exists for the good of all.
